Entry 51 - The End

Well, it's over.

Gametap has pulled the plug on Uru. To be honest, I'm not surprised. Cyan has exhausted their supply of ages from the solo games so either the concept of user generated content was going to fly, or it would have to be shut down. I think that, in the end, the technology for users to contribute to this game just isn't there. The only substantial on-line world of user generated content is Second Life - but clearly Uru can't got there.

So I canceled my Gametap account and closed the door on this little adventure. All in all, it was a fun year. I had a great time and met some wonderful people.

I'll keep this blog here, who knows what the future holds.

Cheers

Entry 50 - Let's Celebrate

Well, maybe not.

I guess it's obvious I've not been in cavern much of late. this is due to a combination of factors. One, no new content; two, very busy at work (the material I'm teaching in both my courses I've never taught before - it's alright, I asked for it); three, a course I'm taking in Web programming; and four, and perhaps the biggest, a new XBox 360 arrived under the tree for Christmas - eating up what spare time I have.

Anyway, I did pop in today and picked up my final Calendar lantern making this almost a year in Uru.

Entry 49 - Just To Get One In

My surface life the past month has been very busy so I haven't had the opportunity to get into cavern too much. The fact that there isn't much happening now that the season is over doesn't help to draw me in either.

I was in earlier this week and chatted with Jim (Eldyn/Luk) for a bit, which was nice. Hung out in Ae'gura and watched the sky divers, took a picture of my Relto in my seasonal hat, and then pretty much called it a night.
